<a href=\"https:\/\/swimlane.wistia.com\/medias\/kocceni5ro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pyattck 2.0 and an equivalent PowerShell version called PSAttck<\/a>. These open-source tools provide security operations centers (SOCs), defenders and offensive security teams with external data points that enrich MITRE ATT&amp;CK by providing potential commands, queries and even detections for specific techniques. Additionally, these data points enable context related to specific attacker actors or groups, as well as details about different tools used by malicious actors.<\/p>\n<p>By having access to MITRE ATT&amp;CK techniques, actors and tools, security professionals can search logs for potential commands related to a specific technique, allowing them to build and retrieve detections and queries with the information. These open-source projects utilize several other open-source projects to provide actionable context instead of relying on specific domain knowledge and experience with a specific technique, actor or tool listed within MITRE ATT&amp;CK.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE: Not all techniques will have external data properties, but we will be continually expanding this data set to have coverage for all techniques in the future.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/swimlane.wistia.com\/medias\/dy2wnsvji6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pyattck<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/swimlane.wistia.com\/medias\/67u431nrb5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PSAttck<\/a> offer access to the following external data points:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Targets, operations and additional data related to actors.<\/li>\n<li>Potential commands, queries, detections from open-source projects for individual techniques.<\/li>\n<li>Data from <a class=\"c-link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.thec2matrix.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-sk=\"tooltip_parent\" aria-describedby=\"sk-tooltip-80e9e907-3420-48f0-8a63-7941bed8a32d\">http:\/\/www.thec2matrix.com<\/a> and additional datasets, providing context to specific tools used by attackers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>More information about these features are available at our <a href=\"https:\/\/swimlane.github.io\/attck\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Attck site<\/a>, which contains documentation for pyattck, PSAttck and generated external data.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"c-figure--inline\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/swimlane.com\/assets\/uploads\/images\/Making-MITRE-ATTCK-Actionable_1.png\" \/>\n<figcaption><a href=\"https:\/\/swimlane.github.io\/attck\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/swimlane.github.io\/att&#8230;<\/a> contains documentation and resources related to all MITRE ATT&amp;CK Tools and data from Swimlane.<\/figcaption>\n<\/figure>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Both pyattck and PSAttck are available on their respective package management platforms and can be installed as of today!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h3>Installing &amp; Using pyattck<\/h3>\n<p>pyattck is available on pypi.org and installable using pip. To <a href=\"https:\/\/swimlane.wistia.com\/medias\/dy2wnsvji6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">install pyattck<\/a> you can run the following command:<\/p>\n<pre>pip install pyattck&gt;=2.0.2\n<\/pre>\n<p>With the release of pyattck 2.0, we have restructured the project to segment the different ATT&amp;CK frameworks. This means you can now access the PRE-ATT&amp;CK, Mobile, and Enterprise frameworks from pyattck. PSAttck utilizes PowerShell classes and enables you to access both the MITRE ATT&amp;CK data and external data sets using the provided functions.
