Meet Satyam Gupta.
Satyam is a Software Engineer at Swimlane who spends most of his day building backend services, chasing down random bugs, and convincing APIs to cooperate. He loves working on systems that have to scale, and there’s nothing quite like the moment a solution finally clicks after staring at the screen for way too long. Outside of work, he’s usually planning his next trip, reading about AI, or telling himself he’ll practice guitar more than he actually does.

¿En qué consiste su trabajo?
I work on the backend, so a lot of my day revolves around designing APIs, building new features, fixing bugs, improving performance, and making sure things don’t randomly break in production.
Some days everything works perfectly. Other days a missing semicolon somehow becomes a two-hour investigation. That’s software engineering.
What do you like most about working at Swimlane?
Definitely the people. Everyone’s super approachable, and I’ve never felt weird asking questions or throwing out new ideas. There’s a lot of trust, so if you want to own something, you actually get the chance to do it. I’ve learned a ton just by working with the people here.
What do you enjoy doing when you aren’t working?
Traveling is probably my favorite thing. I’m the kind of person who’d rather take a local bus, stay in a hostel, and explore a place on foot than book a fancy vacation. I love trekking, watching sunrises after questionable amounts of sleep, playing tennis, and discovering places that aren’t all over Instagram.
Lately, I’ve also been spending way too much time reading about AI, because every week it feels like something new drops.
¿Cuál es un dato curioso sobre ti que muchas personas quizá no conozcan?
I genuinely enjoy planning trips almost as much as taking them. Finding the cheapest train, figuring out how to reach a hidden beach using three buses and a ferry, and somehow making the whole itinerary work!
¿Tu lema o mantra personal?
Stay curious and keep building
¿Tres palabras que te describen mejor?
Curious, chill, and adventurous.
¿Qué valor fundamental de Swimlane resuena más contigo?
Be a Happy Innovator! I like taking ownership of things instead of just completing tasks. Whether it’s building a feature, fixing a bug, or improving something that’s been bothering everyone for months, it’s satisfying to know you made things a little better.
¿Qué tipo de impacto quieres dejar en nuestra industria?
If something I build makes someone’s day a little easier, I’d call that a win.
