Welcome to the “Life in the Swimlane” blog series. Here we will feature interviews with Swimlaners to learn more about their experience. This series will give you a preview of Swimlane, our culture, and the people who keep us going.
My name is Maycie Belmore and I’m the Content Marketing Manager at Swimlane! I was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and I played competitive soccer my entire life. I had a couple knee surgeries towards the end of my career and although soccer was hard to part ways with, I was able to focus on school and got a bit of my social life back, haha.
I grew up with one older sister, who I’m very close with. My family and friends are extremely important to me and any chance I get to spend time with them, I do.
I attended the University of Arkansas for the next four years (Woo Pig Sooie). I soon earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Public Relations. Fast forward to 2023, I’ve been living in Denver, Colorado for almost four years now. I’m a huge outdoors person. I love snowboarding, biking, walking, watching any and all movies (I’m a film nut), and you might find me on a patio enjoying a happy hour if the weather permits.
How long have you been with Swimlane?
I’ve been with Swimlane for a little under two years. I started out as a Sales Development Representative and I loved it! But quickly realized, I missed my creative side a little too much. Just recently, I was promoted to the Content Marketing Manager role (I’m loving it).
What does your job entail?
As the Content Marketing Manager at Swimlane, I’m in charge of content creation on topics surrounding cybersecurity, security automation, and all things Swimlane. I help manage creative ideas and generate content on our website and social media to ultimately generate conversions and leads for our sales team.
What do you enjoy most about working at Swimlane?
The culture and the community of people that I’ve had the opportunity to create friendships with. I feel like everyone within the company is really supportive and always looking for ways to help improve the business as a whole. Oh, and the occasional Japango dinner and happy hour outings are always nice too!
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
I really enjoy being outside, spending time with my friends and family, going to the movies, cooking new recipes I find, live music, and enjoying a good cocktail or coffee on a patio.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I pretty much communicate in unpopular movie quotes no one knows because I can likely quote any movie from start to finish if I’ve seen it more than once. I’m also a pretty good cook.
Your motto or personal mantra:
Go confidently in the directions of your dreams and live the life you imagined – Henry David Thoreau
Three words that best describe you:
Loyal, charismatic, and driven.
What Swimlane core value resonates with you the most?
Honesty and integrity in ‘all the things’.
What type of impact do you want to leave on our industry?
I want to always be leveling up in this company and always provide a positive impact in all that I contribute to in cybersecurity and at Swimlane.
