3 Minute Read

Welcome to the “Life in the Swimlane” blog series. Here we will feature interviews with Swimlaners to learn more about their experience. This series will give you a preview of Swimlane, our culture, and the people who keep us going.

My name is Samantha Simione. I live in Cleveland, Ohio. My son is 20 years old and entering his junior year at John Carroll University, where he is studying finance and plays on the men’s soccer team. He also competes in semi-pro soccer for Lightning FC. My daughter is 18 and recently graduated from high school. She will also attend John Carroll University, where she plans to study political science and play club tennis.

We have a chocolate lab named Piper that we take with us everywhere we can. We love her so much. I’m very close with my family and I’m also very involved with our church, Ss Cosmas & Damian.

How long have you been with Swimlane?

I have been with Swimlane for a little over 4 months.

What does your job entail?

As a sales director, I lead the strategy and execution of our go-to-market efforts to drive revenue growth, acquire new customers, and expand our presence in key markets. I’m responsible for identifying high-value opportunities, building and nurturing executive-level relationships, and guiding prospects through complex sales cycles. I work closely with cross-functional teams—marketing, product, and customer success—to ensure alignment around customer needs and long-term value.

What do you enjoy most about working at Swimlane?

What I love most about working at Swimlane is the incredible culture – collaborative, driven and genuinely supportive – which makes every day rewarding. I get to work alongside passionate teammates that are the best in the biz, while helping our customers solve complex challenges through powerful automation. It’s fulfilling to be part of a company that truly empowers its people and its customers.

What excites you most about your work?

What excites me most about being a sales director here at Swimlane is the opportunity to drive real business growth while solving meaningful challenges for customers. I love building high-level relationships, working at the intersection of strategy and execution and knowing that my efforts directly impact both company success and client outcomes. The role is fast-paced, rewarding and offers the ability to continuously grow – personally and professionally.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

Spending time with my family, cooking, walking our dog, playing basketball, reading, traveling and going to live events.

Are there any clubs, volunteer/awareness groups, or social movements you’re passionate about?

I am a Eucharistic Minister for my church which allows me to bring Holy Communion to the sick & homebound. This has offered me a sense of deep gratitude and great purpose. I am part of many core groups within the church and was a part of the Eucharistic Revival over the last three years.

What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?

I was born during one of the worst snow storms in Ohio history – giving the nickname “Stormy”.

Your motto or personal mantra?

“Hope leads me to faith. Faith grows into love. Love calls me to serve. Service reveals my purpose.”

Three words that best describe you?

Driven, compassionate, and visionary/creative.

What Swimlane core value resonates with you the most?

Move at the speed of WOW – I love this.

What type of impact do you want to leave on our industry?

I would like to impact our industry by empowering people, building meaningful partnerships and leading with integrity. To guide organizations from being reactive to proactive, helping them embrace low-code automation not just as a tool, but as a mindset. By showing organizations how to do more with less and rewrite what success means to them and their teams.
