A Day In the Life with Regional Sales Director, Ed Sawkins

Meet Ed Sawkins, Swimlane’s Regional Sales Director for Australia and New Zealand. 

How long have you been with Swimlane?

I’m been with Swimlane for just over 7 months.

What does your job entail?

My job is to bring Swimlane to the market in Australia and New Zealand. I also enable our partners to sell and implement Swimlane, adopting more customers across different verticals in the region.

What do you enjoy most about working at Swimlane?

I enjoy working with the people – there are no egos but still a strong drive and desire to get things done – that’s not an easy mix to achieve, but Swimlane has done it.

What excites you most about your work?

I think the number one thing people say they are struggling with, particularly as we come out of the pandemic, is time. Swimlane is all about automation – making better use of people’s time. If I can save people time (and therefore be more productive) that gives me a great sense of satisfaction.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

I’m a Scout leader – so I like to spend a lot of time outdoors and help develop the next generation of adults to be the best people they can be. I also enjoy skiing (perhaps Australia is not the best place to live for this!). Mountain biking is another passion – so maybe I should be in Colorado!

What’s a fun fact about you that many people may not know?

I’m a beekeeper.
