David Irwin is a seasoned product leader with deep expertise in scaling cloud and on-premises IT operations and cybersecurity solutions. He specializes in bridging the gap between complex technical architecture and high-impact product strategy to solve the industry’s most pressing security challenges.

As Vice President of Product at Swimlane, David leads the product management and design teams. He is responsible for the strategic roadmap and user experience of Swimlane’s automation platform, ensuring the product delivers measurable value to security operations teams globally. Prior to Swimlane, David spent four years at Tanium, where he owned the product strategy for asset discovery, application dependency mapping, and vulnerability and compliance management.

David’s leadership is rooted in a strong technical foundation, having begun his career as a developer before rising to Senior Developer, Manager, and VP of Engineering roles. His professional background also includes product roles at Microsoft and several high-growth startups.

David holds an MBA from Duke University and BS degrees in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. He resides in Cary, NC, with his wife, Lisa, and their two sons.
