Industry veterans, recent $45 million investment, pave the way for continued agentic AI innovation
DENVER – August 25, 2025 – Swimlane, the leader in agentic AI automation for every security function, today announced strategic additions to its leadership team and Board of Directors. Backed by a recent $45 million growth funding round, the moves add deep AI expertise within the company to proactively accelerate Swimlane’s mission to redefine security operations with its cutting-edge agentic AI automation platform.
Cody Cornell, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, will return to the role of Chief Executive Officer, bringing deep continuity and vision to Swimlane’s next chapter. Having previously led the company through its early startup years, including through cloud-native and low-code product transformations, Cornell will now guide strategic direction and technology innovation as Swimlane accelerates global growth. With over a decade of direct experience working with Fortune 500, global MSSPs, and large government agencies to develop their security automation and AI programs, he has a deep understanding of the technology and the market requirements to lead Swimlane through the next chapter of rapid AI innovation.
“AI is entirely transforming the way companies are approaching security and Swimlane has an unrivaled and uniquely independent role in helping the largest companies in the world transform into AI-driven security programs,” said Cornell. “With this leadership team and our recent investment, we’re doubling down on our vision to make agentic AI automation accessible to every security function. It is not just about adding AI, it’s about driving better security outcomes and at a price that creates a real ROI for customers.”
The company is also bolstering its executive team with three additional key appointments:
- Ashok Shah, former VP of Finance at Attivo Networks, acquired by SentinelOne, has been named Chief Financial Officer. Shah brings deep expertise in investor relations, fundraising and strategic business integration across fast-growth startups.
- Srikant Vissamsetti joins as Chief Operating Officer, with over 25 years of startup experience in cybersecurity and AI, including a role as the VP of Engineering at SentinelOne. Having played a key role in founding and scaling companies by driving product vision, introducing multiple revenue-generating products and building AI-driven virtual agents, Vissamsetti is poised to accelerate Swimlane’s agentic AI innovations roadmap.
- Tushar Kothari, former CEO of Attivo Networks, acquired by SentinelOne, has been appointed to Swimlane as the Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. Kothari’s leadership across cybersecurity SaaS companies, including Cisco, Juniper Networks and NCR, will help guide Swimlane’s global expansion strategy.
“Swimlane’s momentum underscores that its vision is more than aspirational. It’s already reshaping how security operations are run,” said Kothari. “With a proven platform, new leadership depth and clear industry validation, the company is accelerating innovation in agentic AI automation and charting the course for what modern SecOps will look like in the years ahead.”
