James Brear is a forward-thinking leader whose career is marked by steering startups to triumph. Before entering his role as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Swimlane, he was at the helm of Veriflow, guiding it into VMWare's portfolio in 2019. Veriflow rose to prominence with its innovative approach to Intent-Based Networking, securing awards from Gartner, RSA, SC Magazine, Frost & Sullivan, Information Week, and winning the Barclays innovation challenge. Earlier, James led Procera to astounding growth, increasing revenues by over 1100% and orchestrating a public offering. Under his leadership, Procera became a powerhouse, recognized by S&P 600 and the Russell 2000, and celebrated with the Deloitte’s Fast 500 award for six consecutive years. An Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year semi-finalist in 2013, James's strategic vision was instrumental in Procera's acclaim and success. Before Procera, James made impactful contributions at Tasman Networks and Force10 Networks, both of which were acquired by major corporations. His tenure at Cisco Systems saw him managing to deliver substantial revenues. James graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley, and is also an active member of the Young Presidents Organization, demonstrating his commitment to leadership and innovation.
