Hey! I’m Pablo Araya, and I currently live in Costa Rica with my girlfriend and our adorable schnauzer. I grew up in Coronado and studied Computer Science at the University of Costa Rica.
How long have you been with Swimlane?
I have been working at Swimlane for almost 3 years now.
What does your job entail?
As a software engineer, the job typically entails designing, developing, and testing our amazing application. This can include researching and identifying solutions to complex problems, writing code, and debugging and troubleshooting issues.
What do you enjoy most about working at Swimlane?
One of the things I most enjoy about working at Swimlane is the people. The team is made up of talented and dedicated individuals who are passionate about their work and are always willing to lend a helping hand. I appreciate the positive and collaborative working environment, and the opportunity to learn from my colleagues and grow as a professional.
What excites you most about your work?
That it is always changing and challenging. The field of software engineering is constantly evolving and there is always something new to learn.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending a lot of time with my family and friends. I also enjoy trying new foods, as always try to explore new flavors and cuisines. I try to maintain a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly. I also enjoy watching movies and TV shows, it’s a great way to relax and escape from the world for a little while.
What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?
I am a huge sports fan, and I follow several teams closely. Specifically, I am a big supporter of Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, Real Madrid and San Antonio Spurs. I enjoy watching the games and following their progress, and I am always excited when they are competing for the top spots.

The Swimlane core value that resonates with me the most is “Always be leveling up.” I believe that in order to be successful, it is essential to constantly strive to improve and grow both personally and professionally.

I hope to leave a positive impact on our industry by developing innovative and user-friendly software solutions that improve people’s lives.
