Welcome to the “Day in the Life” blog series. Here we will feature interviews with Swimlaners to learn more about their experience. This series will give you a preview of Swimlane, our culture, and the people who keep us going.
Hi, I’m Maddie. I’m currently living in Atlanta, GA and went to Georgia Tech.
How long have you been with Swimlane?
Since October of 2021!
What does your job entail?
I am a product designer, so my team works together to design new & improve existing features for swimlane, always considering how that will affect real users. The majority of my day is spent designing in Figma, meeting with subject matter experts, and collaborating with the product and engineering teams.
What do you enjoy most about working at Swimlane?
It sounds cliche, but 100% the people. My team is really tight-knit and supportive and I have nothing but positive things to say about the other teams and individuals I work with.
What excites you most about your work?
It’s always really exciting to hear from actual users and professionals about their challenges and bounce solutions off them. Design is at its best when it’s collaborative and I truly learn something new every day.
What do you like to do when you aren’t working?
My favorite things are traveling, trying new restaurants (shout out to the Eater newsletter), & vintage/antique shopping.
Three words that best describe you:
Straight-forward, empathetic, curious
What Swimlane core value resonates with you the most?
For me it’s probably “Always be Leveling Up.” I’ve already learned so much here and I am excited to explore the future of this space & grow as a designer.
