At Swimlane, we are thrilled to announce the expansion of our business with the latest Hyderabad R&D center in India. Expanded Presence in India Driven by Growing Demand

As the Senior Director of Engineering at Swimlane, my role is centered around leading and shaping the technological landscape of the organization. I’m responsible for overseeing the engineering teams, guiding product development, and ensuring the successful execution of Swimlane’s innovative solutions. Although the India office is new, I however, am not. My journey began as the first employee at Swimlane’s India location back in 2022, where I played a pivotal role in growing the team to a robust 75 members within one year. This rapid growth showcased the demand for Swimlane’s cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions and the effectiveness of our forward-thinking approach.

As the cybersecurity market in India is anticipated to reach $3.5 billion by 2027, the new Hyderabad R&D center will help accelerate the latest artificial intelligence (AI) developments for Swimlane Turbine. This will play a critical role in maintaining our leadership position in automation.

Bolster AI Capabilities for Swimlane Turbine

The Swimlane R&D center will serve as a strategic hub for various functions. This includes product development, engineering, customer success, support, and finance. These diverse roles enable Swimlane to create an integrated approach for all operations and drive innovation across all facets of the organization.

Even more, this expansion provides an ideal environment for product development, particularly in the realm of generative AI. Swimlane Turbine utilizes AI to help tackle the dynamic and sophisticated workloads in cybersecurity. With the immense talent and expertise housed in the India office, we’re poised to further advance the generative AI capabilities of Swimlane Turbine. One example of how Swimlane Turbine is using AI is an AI-driven ChatBot capable of swiftly generating scripts, offering Python outputs, and testing actions. This enables the rapid building of playbooks with transformative logic, in as little as 25 seconds.

Our ongoing efforts with AI aims to empower security operations (SecOps) teams by providing them with the most robust and intelligent automation solution- with capabilities both inside and outside of the security operations center (SOC). This includes use cases for security-adjacent departments like governance, risk, compliance, and fraud.

The Significance of an In-Person Work Environment

It’s important to know that the expansion of Swimlane’s India office goes beyond physical growth. India is known for its rich cultural diversity and collaborative work ethos. As Swimlane expands the customer base globally, the new R&D center allows our teams to foster stronger connections in-person. With access to India’s robust pool of skilled technology workers, the India office will play a significant role in Swimlane’s continued growth and innovation. The R&D center enables employees to collaborate with a workforce from around the world. Which will help establish efficient workloads for employees and help address all the needs of Swimlane’s growing global customer base.

To say we’re excited is an understatement. This office contributes to a more inclusive and globally aware work environment. In-person interactions facilitate better communication, understanding, and a sense of camaraderie that is often challenging to achieve in a remote work setting. But here at Swimlane, the significance of in-person work environments will remain a top priority to continue enhancing the growth of this company.

Looking Ahead

As we embark on this exciting journey, some of the goals for 2024 include:

  • Foster a vibrant and inclusive culture
  • Expand the India team
  • Nurture existing talent
  • Drive innovation to contribute to the continuous success of Swimlane Turbine

This opening of Swimlane’s India office represents a crucial milestone in our journey of expansion and development. It’s a direct reflection of Swimlane’s dedication to global collaboration, innovation, and the relentless pursuit of excellence in cybersecurity. I invite you to join us, as we continue to push boundaries, break new ground, and redefine the future of security operations.
