Kevin Mata is the Director of Cloud Operations at Swimlane, where he brings over seven years of experience, initially as a customer and previously as Professional Services Engineer/Consultant. In this role, Kevin supports a diverse clientele, ranging from large Fortune 100 corporations to smaller Managed Security Service Providers. Kevin has served as a cybersecurity engineer on the Incident Response team at a Fortune 25 company, where he spearheaded the design, development, and implementation of a Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platform for the Security Operation Center (SOC). His expertise also extends to software engineering, where he developed ETL applications to streamline processes and enhance automation. Prior to joining Swimlane, Kevin worked at San Diego Gas & Electric, as a Cybersecurity Engineer, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing the company's security posture. He designed and implemented a SOAR Platform, leveraging RESTful APIs to automate tasks and significantly reduce processing time. Kevin's collaboration with the Incident Response team resulted in the creation of Python-based playbooks to detect and mitigate malicious activities effectively. Additionally, he orchestrated red team exercises to fortify web applications, providing comprehensive reports with remediation solutions. Kevin's extensive experience in incident response, SOAR implementation, and security tool development positions him as a valuable asset in Swimlane's Cloud Operations team, driving innovation and excellence in security automation.
